Sharp Epiphany

Just the other day,
out of a shimmering blue sky,
something sharp struck me
right in my third eye
and my vision suddenly cleared.

I was so much older in my youth,
cocksure, opinionated,
stubborn as a rusty bolt –
a tiresome,
good-for-nothing
fraud.

    1. I’m sure you are, and I get what you’re saying, man. In my case, I think I’ve just become more open to change as I’ve gotten older and less of an absolutist; more willing to analyze my decisions, both past and present, try to see other perspectives, and admit when I’m wrong. Things I had a very difficult time doing when I was a younger man.

      1. aaahhhh I see! That is very wise actually. I’m not an absolutist (although I can work more on my self-confidence, as in knowing my worth and standing up for it) but I always think I’m right. Always. And that’s not true. I’ll keep your lesson in mind as I proceed in my life.
